On Eagle's Wings

On Eagle's Wings
He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:29-31

Storms

There was only a 30% chance of rain today, but when I saw these clouds moving in, I knew we were going to get some rain. When it came in, it blew like crazy, whipping rain every which way and hailstones banging on the house and bouncing off onto the ground! Some of our friends had hail the size of golf balls and larger. I'm so thankful it was smaller hail here.

Watching a storm is exciting to me ... to see the lightning and listen to the thunder. But I can enjoy it because I know I'm safe inside from the storm raging outside. And now, it's over. The wind has stopped. The sun is beginning to show its face again. It's calm.

As storm clouds threaten to come my way in life, I have to trust that He will keep me in His hand until it is over.

'Til the storm passes over,
'Til the thunder sounds no more;
'Til the clouds roll forever from the sky,
Hold me fast, let me stand,
In the hollow of Thy hand;
Keep me safe 'til the storm passes by.
-Mosie Lister

"You are a refuge from the storm
and a shelter from the heat."
Isaiah 25:4b

Thank You, Father, for the protection and the peace only You can give when I keep my focus on You.

You will keep in perfect peace
all who trust in you,
all whose thoughts are fixed on you!
 Trust in the Lord always,
for the Lord God is the eternal Rock..
Isaiah 26:3-4

A good friend in Wiley sent pictures of the huge hail balls in her back yard then I heard this morning that the schools there are closed today. We got torrential rains but thankfully no hail. Thank you for bringing that wonderful old hymn back to mind. I too love bad weather and also love that I am safe in the hollow of His hand.

I love storms, too....like you, as long as I'm safe indoors. I'm so grateful for HIS shelter in the storms of life. HOPE you're having a good week.

I love that hymn and the comforting verses. Don't you love the fragrance of spring after the rain.
