On Eagle's Wings

On Eagle's Wings
He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:29-31

Pink Saturday and Epilogue

I promise this is the end of the wallet saga. But I couldn't let go. A good investigator hangs in there because he can't rest until he knows what, when, why, etc.

It has finally come to light what really happened with the missing wallet. Part of my guessing was correct, but not completely.

Because I wanted to thank the kind person who returned DH's wallet I called the police department to see if they could and would tell me who returned it. Yes, he would. So I tried the phone number. It was a little difficult communicating with her because of her accent, but she definitely understood I wanted to reward her in some way and she would not hear of it nor would she confirm the address I had found for her. I finally accepted that and told her I prayed that God would bless her since we reap what we sow. She said, "I Christian, too." Then Friday morning she texted me and told me that she owns a donut shop and gave me the address. I made a card, purchased a lovely calla lily plant and took it to her.

When I presented the plant to her, she explained to me that my DH had come in, bought donuts, sat down and left his wallet on the table when he left.

Ta-da! End of mystery of his whereabouts that morning. Still, the mystery remains as to how he ever came to be there because he was nowhere near the usual places he meets his buddies for breakfast.

My friend Kay's birthday celebration was nice. Low keyed. We had a chance to visit, but, as it always happens to be, the ministry does not stop too long for celebrations and there was work to be done. I hope she has a wonderful day of celebration with people dropping in and showing her the love she deserves. I know I'm glad I went.

Can you believe this lady is 70??
She was running around the office like a 25 year old!
And she's going to China next month.

Here's an interesting piece of trivia I learned today.  The young man in the background of this picture is my friend Kay's son. He lived in China for two years as a representative of Christ. Today, in speaking with him, I relayed to him the story of the Chinese lady above who owns the donut shop. He explained to me that the Chinese, when offered a gift or reward of some kind will not accept it. They will decline it three times, and after that, it will be acceptable to accept what is offered. And that is exactly what occurred. After declining my offer three times to send something to her, she then texted me and gave me her address, which I took to mean I could gift her. Truth is, I prefer to believe it had nothing to do with her culture. I believe it had more to do with the fact that she expected no reward for doing the right thing and going the extra mile.

I am glad your husbands wallet was returned....my husband had a series of strokes at age 39, 11 years ago and he still suffers from short term memory issues...I worry, and the worry will increase when I go off to the Univ. Just know, that I am keeping you in prayer as you mentioned your hubby and his memory.

Needless to say, that was a wonderful and honest gesture on the lady at the donut shop...have a beautiful Saturday friend and keeping Kay in prayer for travels.

I loved reading the rest of the story about the wallet. How awesome that God works these things out, even to meeting a new Christian friend.

What a blessing to have encountered such a lovely and honest woman! And, even though you had gone through the tedious process of reporting lost cards and license, etc, I'm so glad you hot your hubby's wallet back! There are still great people in our world! Blessings, Cindy xo

That's great that your hub's wallet was returned and that you found the kind person who turned it in!! My hub recently lost his, too. He retraced his steps, but to no avail. SO....he replaced all of the important stuff (Cr. cards, ins. cards, etc. ) A couple of weeks later he got a call from our local police dept. His wallet had been turned in!!!! It had fallen out of his pocket and got wedged in the theater seat when we'd gone to the show! He checked that seat twice, but didn't check well enough! Anyway, it just reaffirmed that there are still very good and honest folks left in this world!

HPS!! Dana
