On Eagle's Wings

On Eagle's Wings
He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:29-31

Fabulous Friday, Sweet Saturday, Sentimental Sunday

My birthday on Friday was one of those days - thought I knew the plans I had for the day, but it turned out a little different and was a combination of thankfulness patience, anxieties, relief and joy. Again.

After buying groceries, I was on my way to run a couple of errands before taking DH to the doctor for updates on recommendation for problems I won't go into or dwell on. Suffice it to say, the past two weeks have been a time of testing, sleepless nights, and wondering how things will turn out. I am thankful to say that time is on our side. Praise God! He has gone before us in every way to make things happen in the right timing.

As you are driving along thinking about all that is before you in the day, it's always a bit of a shock to see those blue and red flashing lights appear suddenly in your rear view mirror. You can bet it's almost NEVER a case of the officer stopping you to tell you what a great job you are doing. Turns out the sticker on the car is out of date and he directs me over to the licensing office. It was nice of him not to ticket me, although I wish it could have been another day. The line was sooooooo long and I was there waiting 45 minutes! Oh well! It's done now.

After the doctor, we met Amy at the mall to pick up Kate to spend the night. We had a good time, as usual, Chili's for birthday dinner, and had some of my birthday cake which Alice had brought to me the night before.

This was one delicious cake!

On Saturday, Sara face timed me with Noah and he was so excited to tell me he LOVED his new Bible I sent to him and that he had been reading it and had looked up the verses he had memorized! This was truly a delightful conversation and while we face timed, I tried to take screenshots of his expressions. They were on their way to soccer game and he had the Bible with him!

Jason and Amy came to drop off Jack with me, while they took DH over to check out a boat they're thinking about buying. What fun it will be this summer! While they were gone, Kate, Jack and I went to the park. What a gorgeous day it was and they had such fun playing and meeting a sweet mom with her children. They especially enjoyed giving the baby a stroll.

Baby loved it!

We all had pizza, sat outside and watched the kids fly a kite! They let me fly it, too. Would you believe that was my first time ever!

That is the best I could do with my phone.
Someday I'm going to have to get a real camera!

Tonight Amy and I will go see Wicked! Excited because everyone says it is so good.

In addition to all of the wonderful and kind cards I received, some of my birthday and Mother's Day goodies:

and a gift card for a trip to Painting with a Twist - something I have been wanting to do. So thoughtful!

Happy Birthday to me!

As for Sentimental Sunday. As always, Mother's Day is an extremely emotional time. This one has been no exception. I am thankful for the Mom I was blessed to have for 38 years.

After wiggling and jiggling it for the longest,
she finally pulled it out!

Nonnie, Your candles do not tell your age and neither does your picture. You look young and very pretty. I love all the pictures you posted. What a wonderful note from Noah. Our children bless us with their love. Happy belated birthday and a happy mother's day too. xoxo, Susie

I can't decide what I like best about this post. Love all the photos - the kids, the kites, your gifts. Love them all, but I gotta say that little Noah on the way to soccer practice with his new Bible is a real heart gripper. Happy Birthday sweet friend. Gotta ask, "did the tooth fairy visit Kate?". Special prayers & hugs to you and your Dear Heart.

So glad you had such a great birthday (despite the being pulled over by an officer...thankful you weren't given a ticket....not on your birthday). And, is there anything more precious than our grand-kiddos reading God's Word....what a blessing! Love all your Mother's Day and birthday goodies....but, that basket has to be a favorite. I'm VERY partial to baskets. I might have a couple...hundred. Okay, that's an exaggeration...but I do love baskets! Happy Monday to you!
