On Eagle's Wings

On Eagle's Wings
He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:29-31

Monday

It is now April. How can that be?

I missed out on the tulips this year at the Arboretum. Sad, but at least I have many pictures from the past to enjoy! (Not the same ... just sayin'.)

DH and I went out for a bit to get some of that gorgeous sunshine. We had wonderful rains yesterday, but today is one of those rare perfect sunshiny, mild temps, no wind days. We don't see too many of those in Texas.

Looks as though I did it again.
This time he's got the trash can over his head.

Because rain was in the forecast on Sunday, I was glad we could go to church on Saturday evening. True to the forecast, Sunday was filled with thunder and lightning and beautiful rain and so it seemed like the perfect day to bake cinnamon rolls for DH's breakfast. Oh my goodness, they were so good. Wish I had taken a better picture.

The doves are back nesting under the deck. I really enjoy watching them flying back and forth. When they come in for a landing, they rest on the fan before flying into the nest. It's hard to get a good picture of them.

This morning I baked chocolate chip cookies and now am studying for Bible study tomorrow. The lesson is on communion so I baked some unleavened bread to surprise the ladies with. I guess I am either in a baking mood or am just restless waiting for Wednesday.

Wednesday is the day for DH to have his surgery and I am praying the doctor is well and it is all systems go. I am trusting for God's very best.

I have been watching a series called Lark Rise to Candleford, a BBC adaptation of Flora Thompson's memoir of her Oxfordshire childhood, set in the small hamlet of Lark Rise and the wealthier neighbouring market town, Candleford, at the end of the 19th Century.

We watched it years ago, but it is one of those kind of shows I never tire of. Sweet, interesting characters and a couple of good stories intertwined in each episode. Here is a quote from one of the episodes I thought worth sharing.
