My sister had planned to come visit on Sunday, but because of the forecast for storms on Monday, she decided it best to stay home. I don't blame her. Driving on the highway for five hours in thunderstorms is not my idea of a good time. It was a shame because I was looking forward to seeing her and my niece, Robyn. Had a pot roast all ready for them on Sunday which DH and I were able to make a small dent in and had a little more of it today.
The weather forecast proved to be on the money. Yesterday afternoon the storms blew in with high winds, hail, and, YIKES, this is what I saw out my window.
Little waterfall coming off the street.
Behind our back fence.
Yesterday was National Siblings Day, so of course, I had to go on a search for pics.
My sister, Roberta
My brother, Phil
I like this one.
When I was looking for photos with my brother and me, I realized I had never posted any of our trip to Washington, D.C. a few years ago. Not sure how I failed to do that. Maybe because I always use my phone rather than a real camera and they aren't that good. Oh well, here are some of the fun ones.
Not sure why they made him so stern looking.
I think these guys are frowning because DH did
not dress appropriately for the occasion.
And since this post is just pretty random and has become a hodgepodge of sorts, here are pics of my siblings' wedding days which popped up when I saved the above pic.
Right now I can smell a wonderful aroma coming from the kitchen. It is a chicken tetrazzini one of my friends brought to me today. We are enjoying some fabulous food. Last night Alice brought over a huge casserole of baked spaghetti. Some very good feasting going on at our house. And I'm not kidding you, the jeans are shrinking day by day. Somebody needs to keep her mouth closed for a few days.

Great photos! Love that your friends are bringing such good food. God bless them! xx
I totally missed siblings day because I was nursing my cold and not on the computer. Loved seeing your photos!! So sorry your Sis couldn't come for her visit. Hope she took a rain check (no pun intended!).
Nonnie, So thankful you have good friends and neighbors. I love those DC photos...so funny. The wedding pics are great. Oh dear, that is a ton of rain. I do not like too much rain...it's scary...I always fear flooding. Blessings to you and DH. xoxo, Susie
Oh my, that is a lot of rain and I'm glad your sister decided not to drive in it! Love all the photos you shared.
Great Sibling pics... and Y'all really did get lots of rain! Wow! Thanks so much for stopping by. I'm not doing well in visiting lately. 😢
Hello dear Connie,
Thank you for sharing the pics ...I loved them all. Well, the storm ones were a bit scary if I'd allow my mind to wander and think on the damage that could have been!
I'm sorry your sister didn't get to come for her visit, but perhaps another time. I enjoyed seeing pictures of you and your siblings. Such fun!
And I also really liked your pictures from DC. It was odd to see President Bush looking so stern! I always think of him smiling. He definitely was the man of the hour when the twin towers were hit, as well as the Pentagon and the area in PA (not that far from us). His voice throughout all of that was always so calm and reassuring...just what a nation needed at such a time of crisis.
It sounds as if you and your hubby have been enjoying some great food! I'm so glad to hear that people are looking after you guys in that way. :) I'm also glad that you and your hubby have that surgery behind you now. Will he soon go back for a check up with the doctor?
Hugs to you, my sweet friend.
Dianna
