On Eagle's Wings

On Eagle's Wings
He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:29-31

Flu

Dear Heart's escapades with windmills in the cold and windy rainy night,
and working outside in the frigid air with his buddy, Fred,
have resulted in his coming down with the flu.
(Duh, this is the first time I have ever really noticed the
connection of the brand name, Frigidaire!)

He is one sick puppy now.
In light of his health issues over the past year,
did he pay any attention to the doctor admonishing him to get a flu shot?
(I didn't either)
Go to the doctor?
Take something for whatever was ailing him?

No, he's the MAN. He'll tough it out.

Now I have to watch him suffer.
He did finally heed my request begging him
and went to the doctor.

My little trip to the drugstore to pick up prescriptions (for both of us)
was one of those "gotta do it right now" kind of errands.
So I quickly changed into something that would
do for driving in the car and headed to CVS.
Sorry. "The medicine won't be ready for at least another 15-20 minutes."
"Can you come back later today?"

No, thank you.
I will drive over to Kroger, pick up a few things
and see you in 15 minutes.
Smart thinking, right?
It was a good idea ... until I remembered
my attire was suitable for driving ...
not shopping in the grocery store.

LOL.
I practically ran through the grocery store, I was so embarrassed
by the way I must look to others.
Uh, the lady over on Aisle 10,
yes, you wearing the shrunken, high-pocket, worn-out
dark pants speckled with white paint
that flap around your ankles and show off so wonderfully
those red fuzzy socks and low black tennis shoes with just a touch of purple.

Now, nobody actually said that,
that is just my shallow insecurities showing through the tacky dress.

Took this pic of my leg, but
don't think it really does justice
my overall appearance!
Praying that my prayers and those meds will kick in
And my DH will be well VERY soon.

I want my DH back!

I just hate it when my dearest is sick too. Sending up a little prayer or two for him. Hope he's feeling better soon.

Would love to have seen a full shot of your fashion statement. Tee Hee.

We are so sorry the flu has invaded your home. I hope you managed to stay upright. Many many years ago is was in your exact predicament....I declared should I survive I would get the flu shot every year and I have.

So sorry he's sick and hopefully you won't get it. I'll send some "get well prayers" up ASAP! I laughed at your attire embarrassment..seriously, you must not have a Wal-Mart because if you did you'd never be ashamed of how you look after seeing what many think is OK attire to wear to a store!

Oh- I hope he gets well soon. This flu is NOTHING to fool around with- it is a deadly one. I did get a flu shot this year (first one ever-even working in healthcare for all those years). I am sending up a little prayer that you don't get it.
I have done that a few times in life, too-leave home thinking I would not leave the car and then hubby or someone calling that they ABSOLUTELY needed something that I just HAD to pick up....yeah...cute-really cute! Last nice picture there, too!;>) xo Diana

So sorry the flu has reached your home. Praying for a quick recovery for your man and that you avoid it yourself.

I had to laugh at you running in the store like that. It seems that if I am dressed and "presentable" I never see anyone I know. Run in looking like I just crawled out of bed, I'll see 20 people I know that want to stand and talk a bit. Never Fails! ;)

Hoping that your Dearest feels better quickly!!!

Had to laugh at your post because every single time I get the idea that I can just run up to the store real quick and grab a needed item, becuase I don't have eny make up on and am wearing something comfortable, I run into somebody that I haven't seen in ages, or that I went to school with, or the preacher, or somebody from a club that I was part of etc........ I empathize!!! Thanks for the smile this morning!!!!!

my daughter is sick with the flu too. she is alone in a city apt and panicking a bit, because she feels sooo bad... we were going to make the drive to see her and stock her with meds and soup but a friend of hers from work did...and we all learned how important it is to be kind to others, especially when they are sick...she owes good deeds to the world and is appreciating kindness...just like DH will learn to appreciate you!
good luck!!!
