On Eagle's Wings

On Eagle's Wings
He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:29-31

Friday Foto Friends

Friday Foto Friends!

I haven't really taken any pictures this past week. How I wish I could have gotten a shot last night as I took Trudy out to the back yard. As I watched her, an owl flew down and swooped over her, then rose up as if to go to our roof! It scared me thinking the owl had its eye on Trudy, so I began shouting at the thing. Lol!!! That isn't the first time that has happened ... first time was a hawk swooping down over her. I gave thanks to the Lord for protecting my helpless little dog and ran out to swoop her up myself.

This pic did come up in my Facebook memories yesterday, along with this little tidbit which Sara had shared with me when he was three.

Noah: I want to be Peter
Mom Sara: Who's Peter?
Noah: He's in Snow White
Mom: Is he the prince?
Noah: No, he's the riff-raff!!!

:-)

What a cutie he was ... still is.

This has been a busy week with appointments, errands, things to do around the house, and just trying to stay on top of things. I'm having lunch today with two old friends. We meet three times a year - on each other's birthdays. Today we celebrate Nancy. She is really my oldest friend here in Texas ... we worked together for 18 years. She is a beautiful lady and always has been. When I first knew her, she was 36 and now, oh my, she just turned 78.

This is a pic from last year when she was a mere 77!
Doesn't she look great!

Wishing everyone a happy Friday and good weekend. It will be Spring soon. Next week we will learn whether that little old groundhog will come out or not. It doesn't seem to matter around here because we have yet to really see winter. There was a touch of frost this morning, but that's about it.

As for me, one of my words for this year is "wait." I'm learning.
I just spent 35 minutes on hold and went from #23 in queue to
actually speaking with a real person after hearing the same recording over and over.
I have also waited one week for a phone call which has not yet come.
I am patient.

Very scary about the owl and the hawk. We have those occasionally here and I watch very carefully. Mandy is 10 pounds and easy prey, I hear. How cute the conversation about the prince and Peter! Have a great day.

Noah's words are so cute!! Your friend certainly is a very young 78! WoW. That is so scary about Trudy, we knew some people that did have there little dogbaby swooped up by a hawk, never to be seen again. It's so heartbreaking...be careful, it does happen.

It's true! Kids say the darnest things. LOL! He's a cutey for sure. It's wonderful to have friends for many years and still able to get together. With me, my friends are my two wonderful sisters. We are very close. Here we have a long while for Spring to turn up. Have a blessed weekend.

Oh, what a cutie he is!!! I so love hearing how God speaks to us about the word He's asked us to focus on. Such a pretty pic of the purple flowers and scripture. Thanks so much for sharing. HOPE you have a great weekend!

Oh Nonnie...that little guy is SO adorable! I just wanted to reach through the computer screen and kiss that sweet little face. I read Noah and Sara's conversation to my husband and he really enjoyed that one! Noah is just as cute now as he was at age three!

Your friend is absolutely beautiful. One would never believe that she was 77 in that picture, except for the fact that we know you are telling us the truth. ;)

I congratulate you on your patience! We were having computer problems the other day and my husband left instructions to give the phone company a call to get it set aright as he was going out the door the other day. I hate to call them because I'm not tech savvy and they have to keep telling me the same thing over and over in order for it to click so I can do what I need to do. Well, I decided that I would try one last thing before I called them and it worked! I was so happy. When he came home he asked how I got along with the phone company and I told him I didn't call them. There was a slight pause and then he asked if the computer was working any better and I told him the computer was just fine...that I fixed it. He asked why I didn't call them I told him I didn't have time...I had too much planned for the day to have to sit and wait for half the day. :) He was fine with that because the computer was fixed. If what I tried hadn't worked I would have called them though.

Yes, owls are predators and you have to be careful with small animals around hawks, eagles and owls. Very big and powerful birds. I have a barn owl that visits to try to get my big fish. Huge bird!
I laughed out loud at the riff raff. I love the wonderful things kids come up with.
People are staying younger looking longer it seems to me. Its a nice photo of your friend. Isn't it wonderful to have such good friends?
Have a lovely weekend.
