On Eagle's Wings

On Eagle's Wings
He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:29-31

What was Hot ... What was Not!

Billy graduated Captain's School!
That's pretty hot news!
And got his marching orders!
Two years in South Korea.

My nephew Billy and his wife, Crystal.
 Other hot stuff!

Departure date was set for June 2 from the Big D.
We had been looking forward to them spending their last weekend
in the states with us,
How special is that?
(but of course, not looking forward to their leaving.)

But, first things first. Their beloved black Lab was going, too.
Pancake was set to ship out at 5 a.m. Sunday morning!
My brother, Phil, and Billy were up at 3 to see him off.

What wasn't so hot?
Pancake missed his flight.

More "not hot" stuff:
A leak in the upstairs guest bathroom! Nice timing.
A little inconvenient with four guests, but they are real troopers.
Jay and Phil gave it their best, but a plumber is going to be needed for this one.

What was hot:
Mexican food at Cristina's!
Yummy.

(Why I failed to take pictures of all the events going on, I don't know.)

What was not hot:
Mid-afternoon just prior to taking Pancake to the airport,
he's out in the back yard puking. Poor Pancake not feeling so hot!
(Be glad there are no photos of that!)

After finally seeing Pancake off, and attending to other last minute business,
Billy and Crystal's choice of fun for their last evening stateside was
to see the "hot" movie X-Men!

(That wasn't too hot for me, but they absolutely loved it!)

And finally, what was really hot:
Top Golf!
This Mama-to-be rocked it!!!!

So sweet!

My brother Phil

My swinger, Dear Heart

Go Billy!
Me with Crystal and Susan, my sis-in-law

Dear Heart did very well for himself

They were supposed to be trying for that tiresome duck lips thing!

Checking out scores

After a really big day, Billy's last request was for an In 'n Out Burger.
Burgers at 10 p.m., and then up at 2:00 a.m. this morning to head for the airport.

What wasn't hot?
It all ended too quickly.

Good-byes at DFW weren't easy

So long for now ... not good-bye.

Two years seems too long.
But I know they will be back before you know it.
A baby to look forward to. New friends, New assignments. New adventures.
May God bless and keep you all three in your journey.

"Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed,
for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
Joshua 1:9

What great photos! Gotta agree with you - Korea does sound FAR away, but the Captain and his beautiful wife are smiling so perhaps this will be a fun adventure for them. I can understand how seeing them go is "not so hot" for you and the rest of the family.

Great pics! I know that you will miss them. Wishing them a safe journey. I know that you will all enjoy that precious little one when they are able to come home!
