On Eagle's Wings

On Eagle's Wings
He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:29-31

My Funny Valentine

We saw this sign in Jefferson, Texas one year and both found it pretty amusing and true to our life, as I'm sure it is to many others.

The conversations about Valentine's Day have to do with chocolates, flowers, and so forth. And yes, I love chocolate and flowers and cards, but early on I saw that store bought cards, and the other items were not DH's "forte." He would rather surprise me by doing things for me or giving gifts that are more practical, more functional. It literally "hit home" with me with the first birthday gift from him: an automatic garage door opener. What? Although I admit his way of giving caught me a little off guard at first, I have come to appreciate the thoughtfulness behind most of the gifts and the joy it brings him to surprise me with those gifts of love. And he puts a lot of time and effort into the cards he makes for different occasions. (So be careful, little lips, what you say around him, because the mere hint of some wishful thinking may result in receiving something you may wish you had thought through a little more carefully.)

Dear Heart's love has forgiven me a multitude of sins (and I have forgiven him more, he would tell you.) ;-)
His responses to my really big boo-boos?? "You can do no wrong in my book."  (So why does it bother him so much that I leave the light or TV on in a room?)

We have had a lot of fun and adventures in our 31 years together.

Definitely "one of a kind."
Wisdom from Kate at four years old about Grandpa:
Me: What are we going to do with that silly Grandpa?
Kate: "I think we are just going to have to keep him
until he starts to stop being silly."

The kids did the best they could with the materials I had here on Saturday!
We had fun making the valentines anyway.

My sister is loving her colored pencils and
coloring books and sent this to me.

We are always, always - no matter what we feel or think - recipients of God's love and goodness. Everyone, whether they acknowledge it or not, is a recipient of God's love.

Every good and perfect gift comes from the Father above.

I don't think I ever saw a picture of your hubby before. He is a handsome man....that gives kind of weird gifts....lol...gotta love a guy like that.
The kids did a cute job with their valentines and I love the one your sister colored and sent you. Hope you have a beautiful Valentine's night- xo Diana

I liked 'meeting' your husband! I am more practical than Louis Dean. He gives me roses when I would prefer a bush I could plant and keep.
The quads made some cards here and wanted to know if I had any stickers. I didn't. Trystan said, "MeeMaw, you may need to buy some for next year!"

I loved hearing how your husband isn't about roses and candy, but rather things he knows you've wanted (or not) because it helps me realize that my man is being his own person when it comes to gift giving.

Loved the picture of your husband.

I hope you had a lovely Valentine's Day.
