On Eagle's Wings

On Eagle's Wings
He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:29-31

Throwback Thankful Thursday

From February, 2000 until August, 2010, I worked in the home of the Founder, President and CSO of a wonderful Biblically based counseling ministry in Dallas, Texas. There was a corporate office, however, there was a "home office" staff that worked for June in her home. Each season meant a change in the decor in her home and Fall and Christmas were my favorites.

Me on the front porch with Jud!

The ladies in the photo above are Jeanne, Kay, Eula and Judy. Eula was the housekeeper and the one who faithfully and carefully removed the last season's decorations replacing them with the coming season. She always did a great job! (The rest of us did our share of toting things around, I must say!)

This team was definitely a work team I will never forget.

I have been fortunate in all my years of working to work with kind people of integrity and the working relationships were good. But working with these precious ladies was to experience working in an atmosphere of gentle words, humility, caring, loving friendship and forgiveness. We shared a lot of laughter, tears, and yes, we had our share of frustration!

The yard was like a park and in the Fall we could watch the leaves as they changed colors and fell to the ground. It always reminded me of a song we sang in Glee Club - Autumn Leaves. Squirrels outside playing and burying nuts all summer for the coming winter were fun to watch as they chased each other, did crazy somersaults, and scrambled up the trees. It was beautiful.

June

June's title of CSO was Chief Servant Officer. And she truly was and is a most humble and Godly woman. Leadership trickles down and the employees are all willing to serve in whatever way possible to make the ministry fruitful. My memories there are sweet and I am so thankful to have been a part of such a ministry.

Sounds like a dream job! How blessed you were!!!I know that every job has its ups and downs, but working in a Christian environment with congenial women is a blessing not be taken lightly! funny, I was thinking about the song "Autumn Leaves" and actually sang a few lines of that this morning as we drove out of our driveway and some little brown leaves from our sycamore tree were stuck to our windshield...As they blew away I just had to sing! Isn't it funny how songs come back to us? Looking forward to fall in a big way. Thanks for this inspirational post today.

Such a wonderful Throwback Thankful Thursday Nonnie. Your job sounds like a true blessing. Fall is my favorite season especially here in upstate New York With gorgeous colors only God can create. The song Autumn Leaves always comes to mind when I see the first Fall color. Have a lovely evening my friend.

I loved reading this and seeing your photos. It's pretty amazing to find out how much sweeter life is when your practice servant-hood.
