On Eagle's Wings

On Eagle's Wings
He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:29-31

Another fun weekend with kids!

A Friday night sleepover turned out to be a full weekend!

This past Friday, we went over to school to pick up Kate and Jack to come spend the night. It was our first time to see where Jack attends preschool and daycare for Kate after school until mommy gets off work.

After having the usual pizza at home which is what they love, we spent the rest of the evening at the playground, played some basketball at our house, and did a lot of chalk drawing on the sidewalk.

Saturday morning we were up early for Jack's soccer game. Kate wanted to come back home with us to stay until Sunday morning. We played at the park, had lunch at In 'n Out burgers, Kate and Grandpa played school, then we had dinner at Chili's before going to a concert to see and listen to the Young Irelanders, a singing, dancing group from Ireland. They were very talented and entertaining. The fiddler holds the Guiness World Record for being the fastest fiddler.

Kate was pretty tired and falling asleep, so we left at intermission to come home. It was a very peaceful and enjoyable day. Before bedtime, Kate asked me to wake her up early on Sunday morning to be with me. What? You want to be up at 5:30 a.m. Yes, she did. We had such a pleasant morning together, relaxing, fixing breakfast, getting ready for church. We met Mommy and Jack at our church and then had lunch together.

Surprise, surprise! After lunch, Jack wanted to come back home with us to spend Sunday night. Can you really say no when someone tears up to come stay with you? No. So he came back home to stay again.

He fell asleep on my lap.
So sweet. It was tricky trying to transfer this big boy to the sofa to finish his nap.

Showing off new shoes

After his nap, it was time again to play some basketball and then played a lot of tic tac toe which he loves and he also loves to win. Jack wanted to write letters to Brady and Noah, so I helped him with that, he printed his name, licked the envelope and we carried them to mailbox.

Early Monday morning I had my coffee and Jack had his chocolate milk before breakfast of what else? ... pancakes, of course.

 He still likes playing puppy.

Scratching behind his ear.

We went to the park early, played tag, Follow the Leader and Simon says. Wrote all over the driveway with chalk, then took a bath before the drive over to his school. We made a quick stop at Kroger to get him something for his lunch. He picked out a Lunchable, then an apple and fell asleep on the drive to school. Love that boy so much. Got him there in time for a little recess before lunch. The little girls all yelled "Jack, oh Jack" and chased him all over playground.

I think that will be true of this handsome boy all through his life!

Guess whose turn it is now for a nap? Grandpa and I both came home to sack out in our chairs until evening.

What is it about new shoes and kids. I remember getting new tennis shoes when I was a kid. They were specifically for gym class, as we had to wear better shoes most of the time. So these were a treat.
