On Eagle's Wings

On Eagle's Wings
He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:29-31

Random 5 Friday

Linking up today with A Rural Journey Random 5 Friday

1.
These past few weeks, I have been lagging and dragging in my diligence to read or write blogs. It is my hope to feel inspired soon to record the happenings in our life, but thus far this year has just been a little too crazy!

2.
Spring is trying to burst out here one day and then the next, Winter says, "I'm not done with you yet!" The water in our hot tub was frozen yesterday morning. Today the high is expected to be 78 degrees!! What?? So confusing.

3.
My DH has been applying himself to the study of Aquaponic gardening and is buying and investing in all kinds of things (plant, animal and mineral) in order to produce so many vegetables this summer that we will have to give it all away! In case you aren't up-to-speed on Aquaponic gardening, the very basic idea has to do with growing plants in water and fertilizing them with fish and their waste. (I'm learning things, too. I had no idea you could order worms from Amazon!)

This pic will give you a little idea of Aquaponics:

Ours is proving to be on a MUCH bigger scale and the whole thing sounds quite fishy to me. (Sorry!)

(I'm not from Missouri, but this is something I will have to see to believe.)

Someday I think I will have to devote a blog to some of the things my DH has done. He is a guy who "must" have a project and it "must" always be something unique (weird to me, expensive or dangerous). He is fairly creative and one thing I can say for sure, no, two actually, he has fun, and with his fun comes frustration. Fun for him! Frustration for me! Never a dull moment!

4.
My 15 year old dog Trudy had to have her dental cleaning yesterday. No teeth were pulled and she's good to go. The vet says this is her last year for that as she is getting too old to be put under anesthetic. Although I'm glad Trudy is in such good shape health wise, it is sad to see her so feeble having a hard time walking, getting confused and sleeping almost all the time now.

Sweetest dog

5.
Downton Abbey! Another season ended way too early! Oh well, guess we will just have to wait until next year to find out whether Bates really did it. What do you think? In the meantime, I'm ready to watch some Call the Midwife, which begins I think at the end of March. If you haven't seen Call the Midwife, you really should take the time to catch up! You will love it. Fantastic series. DH and I both sit and bawl our eyes out or laugh with joy!

I have always been amazed by the hydroponics from the first time I saw it in Disneyland back in the early 80's. Let us know how hubby does.
It is sad to see our pets aging, isn't it-and know that we can't do anything really to help them with the process.
Here's MY theory on Bates. I think he went up to confront the valet and the valet saw him coming and ran out into the street without looking/thinking and was struck and killed-thus saving Bates from doing the unthinkable. LOVED the ending of DA this year-that ocean scene was just precious- xo Diana

Aquaponics sounds fascinating to me. It is one of those things that I want to learn more about. Can't wait to read more about what your DH does with his garden! Have a great weekend!!

My daughter is interested in aquaponics. It's hard to watch a pet grow old, she sure looks well cared for.

Oh, Downton! I do think we'll be hearing more of the Bates thing, but I wish we didn't have to wait so long for it. And I've read the book for Call the Midwife, but haven't seen the show yet. Will have to look for it~

blogging is so educational. I learn the oddest thing and now aquaponics - not really sure I wanted to know about that or that you can order worms from amazon.com!

thanks for stopping by my blog, have a great day.

I am not showing Jack this post. Aquaponics would be right up his alley. He probably already knows about it and if he would see a blogger allowed her hubby to give it a shot...I'm doomed! I can't believe Downton Abbey is done for the season. I'm going to check out Call the Midwife. I've heard it's good. Have a good weekend!

We LOVE Call The Midwife!! I'm so looking forward to the new season! Hated Downton ending so soon. The season wasn't long enough.

I am intrigued about Aquaponics. I will have to read up on that when the snow flies this weekend. I haven't yet watched any of Downton Abbey, and I am beginning to think I am the only person who hasn't. I need to fix that and watch some episodes!

I'm one of a handful of people on the planet who hasn't seen DA. I'm beginning to think I'm really missing out on a great show, but I'd have so much catching up to do that I doubt I'll start now. Oh well.
Thanks for stopping by. Enjoyed your randoms!

15 years old that is wonderful. Yes it would be too scary to keep putting her under.

Sweet pup -- it's difficult to see our pets get old. xo

That sounds like quite the complicated projects, waaaaay more than anything I would dare. Not saying I'm lazy or anything, but...I didn't realize Trudy was that old. My sweet Kramer lived to be 15+ and I was devastated when he passed. I hope Trudy lives way past expectations. I know how special she is to you.

Downton Abbey fan here...will have to check out Call the Midwife, have not heard of it until now. Your dog looks so sweet. It is difficult on us when our old friend get old. Simply remember that you gave them a wonderful life; many dogs would long for that.

The Superhero also always has a project going! Even in the midst of tax season, he's doing something! And It does usually turn out to be expensive.

That is the one thing about pets.......its so sad to see them age. We just had to have our VERY old cat put down and I have sworn NO MORE CATS! At the same time, our dogs are aging and having related problems. Sigh, I don't think I took my children to the pediatrician as often as my dogs go to the vet!
