On Eagle's Wings

On Eagle's Wings
He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:29-31

Random 5 Friday

My Random Five Friday
1.
Ain’t it funny how time slips away? That is already happening with 2014. February will be upon us tomorrow, Groundhog Day to follow, and a short period of winter before Spring. Then, before you can say Jack Robinson,
Google says there really was no Jack Robinson!
I guess if there was, he was too quick
for anybody to pin down what that
saying is all about!!!
I will be turning that “magical age” of 65! Who ever knew? It was only 50 years ago that the Beatles appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show. Watching them at that young age, I certainly never dreamed that I would be considered a senior citizen.

2.
Medicare enrollment! I received my Medicare card in the mail and have enrolled in a Medicare supplemental insurance. Things are certainly moving along.
3.
Yesterday’s visit to the doctor for a general visit resulted in her commenting that “you are so healthy you are boring!” That is great news and I can live with that! (Pun intended!)
4.
Beginning to think about our upcoming vacation in the Spring. Any suggestions would be welcome of exciting things (no zipline adventures or anything like that, please) to do in Charleston, South Carolina, Savanna, Georgia, and then other places between Savanna and West Palm Beach. We will be spending about ten to twelve days going down the coastline of Georgia and Florida.
5.
And finally, speaking of aging, I came home yesterday from the doctor's office all proud of myself for being in such great shape at my age and, what do you think happened? I did a little vacuuming, got up on the stepladder to clean light fixtures, cooked dinner, and did a little laundry ... and somewhere during all that activity, I threw my back out.

So, now I'm a wee bit down!

Oh no, your poor back! That is awful and I hope that you feel better soon!! Loved number 3, yippee for you! That was good news! Your vacation sounds like it will be fun. There is so much to do and see in the area!

Oh, I hope your back gets better, and soon. And that is wonderful news from the dr! I will take that kind of boring any day. Your upcoming trip sounds like a dream- I don't have any suggestions for it, but I hope you will post about it when you return!

Isn't that just like life. Guess you're was too "boring" HaHa. Not laughing at your back problem...ug that hurts, but just when we think we're doing so well....trusting it's all better real soon.

Not familiar with that part of the country, but know you will have a wonderful vacation!!

Oh no! Back trouble is so frustrating! Sure hope it is getting better already!

Joe and I did the Savannah, GA trip last Spring. We have also been to Charleston. Both great places. Definitely do the guided tours in both places. We also like doing the Ghost Tours, at night. Not because we think places are haunted, but because of the history! Now, if you are getting down into Florida, let me HIGHLY recommend a visit to Lakeland! Sure would love a chance to treat you to lunch and show you around! Let me know!! :)

Good for you for getting such a good health report. Too bad about your back though. Have fun on your trip. I love random road trips like that. When you get down to the West Palm area you will close to where I used to live (Palm Beach Gardens-a northern suburb of West Palm). If you do get down to West Palm the Flagler museum is worth seeing.

As far as Svannah and Charleston they are both beautiful old cities. You can do walking tours downtown and the ghost tours are fun to do...they are not scary and they are done at night. Can't wait to hear what you do- xo Diana

Happy Birthday you young chick! Congrats on that good health report. That's something no amount of money can give you. If you feel old, just think about how old the remaining Beatles are! I'm sorry about your back. I do however know a super wonderful Chiropractor who could get you up and running soon! Just come to the Pines and Jack will be here! But if you can't, just ice it for no longer than 20min..then redo ice after 20 min. and use ibuprophen for pain and inflammation relief. Heat is OK too, but I find ice works better. Anyway, I hope you have a good weekend!

Oh, no! So sorry to hear about your back! Hopefully with that healthy body of yours, you will mend quickly and really enjoy your travels!

Just when we get all cocky about how good we look, feel for our age -- something happens to snap us back to reality. Hope you feel better soon and Happy Birthday! xo
