On Eagle's Wings

On Eagle's Wings
He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:29-31

A Day Out with Ladies of Grace

YES!!  Gotta get just one last post in about Christmas:

(1) 'cause it's gonna be February before you know it
(2) and I want to brag about my church!

The sun was shining brightly on the frozen ice in early December, but the roads were finally driveable. That was a big relief, because it was time for the Ladies of Grace Christmas brunch.

Each Tuesday from September to December, we have had an in-depth teaching on a different character from the Bible, learning lessons from their mistakes. The lessons are never ending as most all of them had some hang-up, dysfunction, weakness or strength.

But on brunch day, our gathering was all about fun and food and the annual gift exchange ... you know the routine. Bring a gift, select a gift, and then wait try to hide it if it's something you really, really want! If the contents of the package you chose was something fun, pretty or cool, someone else is bound to sneak over when it's their turn to choose and steal it from you. Steal!! Do you think that's a naughty thing to do at a Bible study brunch? Nah, I don't think so either. (Unless they are trying to take mine, that is.)

We also had a contest for the best decorated table. Every table was a winner, but table #3 (mine and Ginger's) tied with table #4 for the prize.
Our table #3
Table #4

Aren't the chair covers cute?

The prize for best decorated table!
Here are pics of just a few of our Tuesday morning ladies.
Our leader, Lisa on the left.

Don't we have some beautiful Ladies of Grace?

These pics reflect one of my very favorite things about our church:
It is a multicultural church - Everybody is welcome.
"How wonderful, how beautiful,
when brothers and sisters get along!" (Psalm 133:1-3 The Message)
Each week, no matter what service I attend,
I see a glimpse of what Heaven will look like one day.
All of us gathered together to worship, from every tribe, every nation.

And lastly, because a lot of our time on brunch day
centered around gifts and "stealing,"
I was thinking about the best gift ever
when God gave His Son for us.

Ain't nobody can ever steal that away!

"Thank God for His indescribable gift."

What a fun day and such a good idea...I might have to "steal" that away and use it for our women's Christmas gathering this year! Love seeing the Christmas posts. It's the best time of year to realize the gift of our Savior and to celebrate love...you do have beautiful women in your group!

Oh my that brought back so many memories of our 27 years at First Baptist Church of Hughson, CA before we retired. We had a Christmas Brunch or Tea each Christmas much like yours. How I loved those women, and miss them and the fun we had at those luncheons.
You are bless to have such a wonderful group of ladies. The tables are so cute, and we did that prizes and gift exchange. I do miss those days. I always loved being a Pastor's wife and doing things with our ladies.
