On Eagle's Wings

On Eagle's Wings
He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:29-31

Our December, 2019

I'm steeped in memories and not finding time nor being able to record them all. I'm simply going to save some of the pictures from the end of 2019 for posterity's sake. Some of the problems I have are trying to download pictures, which I finally realize went to icloud!! Then I finally, finally was able to download some pictures, wrote a few paragraphs with pictures, and then it all disappeared. This is what I've got! I give up!!

Kate's first piano recital

This beautiful face and sweet smile!!!
(I cropped me out!)

An aspiring student???

Snow fest at our church was fun!

Sara's family at their church

Surprise on Christmas morning!!!

Cool kids learn on Christmas morning they are about to go on a ski trip!
(and Nana and me were invited to go along!!!)

When you travel for 12 hours on Christmas Day, you discover your options for dining are very limited! Almost NIL!! We had to settle for snack food from gas stations (Allsups) and finally, in New Mexico, found a tiny little shack which was open and serving Mexican food (a hamburger was my choice, as I thought just maybe Mexican food might not be the best choice while traveling.) (Jason's generosity to our cook/server touched my heart as he wanted to bless her on Christmas Day.)

Turns out it was ALL good. Much better than ALLSUPS!

Beautiful snow

Up to the top we go!

We three queens!!

And back down again.

And snowboard Jack.

A throwback to another very cold December, 1989, 30 years ago
with Jason and Sara for Christmas in Breckenridge, Colorado.

My sister sent this picture to me, which I had never seen before.
I like it!

I give you thanks, Father, because I don’t have to grieve as other people who have no hope do. I do have hope ... my hope is in You Lord. I thank You for all the years I had with my Dear Heart. I thank You for the extra years you gave us after 2011. I thank You for the love and the sweetness of the man that I loved. His smile, his laugh, his dreams, his touch, his words to me.

I remember well after we first married, each night as we went to sleep I would think to myself and say to him, “I am so happy that I have you and I’m so sad that another day is gone. But it was a good day. I treasure every day with you and am so thankful for the gift of you to me.”

The days of good far outweigh the times of frustration or difficulties we faced. We never went to sleep angry, we always forgave. Now you are at true peace and I know I will see you again one day. I love you. I don’t have to wonder where you are. The moment you closed your eyes, I know you were with Jesus. Our Captain is now with the Captain of our salvation.

In the past couple of years, I kept asking God to show me when it’s time for us to move. I finally had to leave it with the Lord and trust His timing, so I hung on to the verse, “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go.” God knows best for us and on December 3, God moved you up to the perfect home in heaven. Jesus says in John 14:

“Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am. And you know the way to where I am going." Jesus told [Thomas], "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me. John 14:1-4, 6 (NLT) He says that to us, too. He is the way. And Jay a/k/a DearHeart/Grandpa/Papa knew that.

A bit of irony. I always wanted wind chimes for the patio. Jay found the sound a little irritating because, granted, it is very windy here in North Texas. Well, this morning my neighbor came over with a gift for me from three of the neighbors. Guess what? Wind chimes!!! A beautiful set and they are dedicated to Jay’s memory! I love it! That’s what we called a “God kiss.”

and the reverse side is dedicated to his memory with his name,
date of birth and date of departure to Heaven.

Almost impossible to believe. My Dear Heart, you will never be forgotten. You live in our hearts forever and we will see you again one day. Your earth body may be under this festive grave blanket, but we know where you really are and Who you're with!

I just read back though several posts. I am so sorry I missed that your hubby had passed. I am so sorry. I know you are lonesome but I also know that, as a believer, you know you will be reunited someday. That tribute the son gave is absolutely beautiful. I bet there were lots of tears and smiles-just the way it should be.
God bless you I am so sorry. There has been so much going on here with everything that I have been 'out of it'. xo Diana

Such a beautiful post, Connie. You have been so much on my heart and mind during the holidays, and it is wonderful to see how God has been caring for you. I love that you were able to travel with the family and had such a good time. And those wind chimes! what a wonderful gift! When you hear them chime you will think of Jay and know that he is thinking of you. May the Lord bless you and keep you as you go through the days ahead. May He give you peace and comfort and strength. God bless you, dear friend.

I knew when I was reading the beginning that while you were having a good time your heart was hurting. How can it not be when you had such a wonderful love like that? Not everyone has it. I am glad that you had such wonderful plans for Christmas and your family looks so sweet and loving too. sandie♥

Dear sweet Connie....With my own husbands health issues I had not been on the blog for a long time. I didn't know the love of your life had passed away. I'm so sorry, but rejoice as you do that we know exactly where he is and seeing our blessed Savior, Jesus Christ, face to face. I'm sure the Lord said "Good and faithful servant, welcome to heaven."
The pictures and memories are so precious. Love your windchimes and sign of love and his dates of birth and heaven.
You will be in my thoughts and prayers.
Love and Hugs
