Thirty years ago, on a beautiful October day, just such as the one this day, I went to work dressed in a new, green silk dress. After trying very hard all day to concentrate on my work, I finally was able to leave at 4:00 p.m. to meet my husband-to-be and his two children, Sara, age 10 and Jason age 7. We drove over to Cedar Hill, Texas where we would be joined together in matrimony. It was just the four of us for the simple ceremony performed by my former pastor in his study, with DH's kids to be witnesses.
Afterward, we four celebrated with a wonderful dinner at the top of Reunion Tower overlooking the bright lights of Dallas. We then went to the home of one of my very dearest friends who had prepared a wedding reception for us. It was a happy day!
Happy Anniversary to us!
It's still a happy day!
We always laugh about this little saying!
Happy Anniversary!

ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary to you and your hubby. It sounds like a really sweet way to get married, with the children there sharing in the moment. What a blessing to inherit two beautiful children who obviously love you very much...and now you have such wonderful grandchildren to enjoy. God has truly blessed you with a lovely family.
